Lego's simple and fun postcard series Part 2 — New York Edition

Recently, I have been enjoying building Lego's Postcard series set! So today, I continue to travel around the world with another one of Lego's postcards — the New York Postcard (model #40519)

Lego's New York Postcard

In the New York postcard set, it includes the following features:

• a 3D New York Postcard:  this series showcases New York's well-known landmarks — the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, and the One World Trade Center.

this set is recommended for ages 9 and up

First Impressions

Like always, when I opened the small yellow cardboard Lego box everything is well-organized and packaged. All the lego pieces were packaged in their appropriate plastic bags that were labeled in the order in which the postcard will be built.

The contents that came with the set are
:

    • 5 packs of Lego building parts

    • Illustrated instruction manual

    • 2 stickers for decoration

Building Process

Overall, the estimated average time it took me to build this set was around 84 mins. Like the previous review (The Austailia postcard), all the illustrations in the manual are illustrated clearly which makes the process of assembling seamless.

The first plastic bag contains all the parts needed to assemble the base/background setting of the postcard. This stage was simple to piece together.

Lastly, the second part of the process was to build the landmarks of New York such as the Empire State Building, One World Trade Center, and the Statue of Liberty. My favorite part about this set was building the Statue of Liberty as well as the bridge! And like always, I loved piecing and seeing the entire postcard coming together.

Part 2: Assembling ANew York City

Fully assembled New York Postcard!

As with all Lego sets, I had a lot of fun building this postcard set; the product size is small which is great for display. Overall, the postcard really captures the essence of one of the most Iconic cities in the world. That being said, one thing that the set can improve on is its stability, specifically the structure of the bridge — currently, it is very wobbly on the postcard. Also, the lego set came with a lot of stickers that came kind of wrinkled and because the stickers were small it was hard to place them on the lego pieces while making sure they were placed straight.

All in all, this set was amazing and I definitely recommend picking one up if you are a huge fan of New York or Lego's postcard sets in general.

Let me know in the comments if you built this set, and what was your favorite part about building his set!
